The poster was my main assignment at the end of the semester. I completed rough draft and sent it to Dr. Barker. After some miscommunication we both came up with similar final drafts of the poster. Because of the time and color constraints we were forced to use the University’s copy tech to create a physical poster for the presentation. Fortunately, everything worked out and a quality poster was created in time for our audience.

I created this document after the first pilot test. Its purpose is to solicit more information from the participant through asking simple questions about the tasks at hand. This was initially over looked because there was confusion over the post test questionnaire and the post test interview. Hopefully this document was able to help the testing team create more detailed insight into the problems facing the IRB website.

I volunteered to be the facilitator in the first run of the experiment. The experience overall was pretty good there were a few kinks to work out to make the whole process smoother and the test packet needed to be revised. I was the only person in the room with Mrs. Eaton and did my best job to keep a timetable of events and other notes from the pilot test.

A facilitator script was necessary for testing purposes. A uniform introduction to the experiment allowed for anyone to step in and perform the experiment. I decided to leave the stapler warm up in the script; the exercise prepared the user to speak out loud their thought process. The facilitator script also made sure we did not miss any steps in the experimenting process as the document lays out the process step by step.

Joshua and I were assigned to complete the graduate student test packet. Individually we completed the task on our own, and then during class time took the positive qualities from both to create the final draft of the graduate student test packet. Using the existing test plan’s objectives, Joshua and I created the test packet to incorporate problems that Donna Peters had suggested to us earlier in the semester. Creating the packet was essential to testing process creating tasks for the users to complete.

Bryony and I split the work up on creating user personas for the final report. Bryony wrote about a graduate student and I wrote a description of a middle aged professor. Background research such as ethnic make up, age, and gender was needed in order to create two personas that would mirror the population at Texas Tech. I initially only created the graph version of the persona as shown in the power-point presentation, but Bryony asked me to write a longer more narrative version of the professor’s persona.

personas1.docThis was my original rough draft. Although it was way too short and did not contain all the necessary information it gave me a good start while creating the personas.
